About me
My name is Aubrea Thompson. I'm 21 years old, a Mason City, Iowa native and I've been creating art that I'm proud of since I was 14 years old. In school, I was involved in a lot of activities from sports to art club to YAT President. I've painted, drawn, made ceramics, done ink stamping, paper mâché, stained glass, tiles, and 3D installments. As you can tell, I've created a lot of pieces over the years and this past year I was introduced to a new way of creating - Graphic Design. It's something very new to me and I'm not sure I will ever be a huge fan of it but I did enjoy learning about it.
Artist Statement
Art interests me mainly because it’s one of the purest ways to express yourself without judgement. It’s purely your creativity and talent and you can make anything into art. Art is everywhere around us and is purely subjective as well. It’s also interesting to see the various styles that everyone has as well as the various styles within individuals. Art is simply beautiful and raw. Themes that have been recurring in my work vary but my favorite subject has always been flowers. Another theme would be asymmetrical designs.
